Day 4 Paleo Kids Lunchbox Ideas
Today I’m sharing more of my favorite products! My kids and I love this lunch. L-O-V-E! This is one of those lunches that is super healthy, filled with so many nutrients and packs a powerful protein punch to keep you satisfied for hours and your kids will be satisfied too!
If you missed the first few days of our Paleo Kids Lunchbox Ideas, here are the links. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3.
What is Inside
Siete Tortilla’s, guacamole chicken wraps. Lettuce, shredded carrots and tomatoes to add to the wrap, banana chips for a fun crunch and green apples to dip in the Organic SunButter for a snack!
If you lightly warm the tortillas or slightly dampen them before adding the guacamole and chicken to them you have less of a chance that they will crack!
Using the U Konserve divided stainless steel container again, there are so many uses for this divided container. I also put the wraps in the Food Kozy Snack Bag by U Konserve! The SunButter in this divided container does not run into the other compartments, so nice.
The SunButter is made in a nut free facility so that is a huge bonus for those of you that have kids with nut allergies and it is free of the top 8 Food Allergens out there: Peanuts,Tree Nuts, Milk, Eggs, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish and now Soy. The apples are in a Lunchskins Snack Bag. You can write your kids names on them and you can run them through the dishwasher too! Then we have the Cassava & Coconut Tortillas from Siete, personally, I love these and my kids don’t know that they are paleo!
Diet and Allergies
One of the things I have missed most with changing my diet is corn tortillas. I have now found such a delicious replacement I won’t ever feel the pull of the corn tortilla again. Yay Siete Foods! Coconut is a bit controversial, whether it is a nut or a fruit, here is what I found on the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology website:
People with tree nut allergies often wonder if they must also avoid coconut and nutmeg.
Coconut is not a botanical nut; it is classified as a fruit, even though the Food and Drug Administration recognizes coconut as a tree nut. While allergic reactions to coconut have been documented, most people who are allergic to tree nuts can safely eat coconut. If you are allergic to tree nuts, talk to your allergist before adding coconut to your diet.
Nutmeg is a spice that is derived from seeds, not nuts. It may be safely consumed by people with a tree nut allergy.
Adults too
This is a kids lunchbox week, but this could easily be my lunchbox, I would add some cilantro and chives to this wrap, no tomatoes or banana chips,( since I have eliminated them with my anti inflammatory diet) but I would happily have this multiple days a week for lunch and snack, I could have taco’s every day of the week, for pretty much every meal and have at different times in my life! I am so happy I found Siete Foods Cassava & Coconut Tortilla’s!
I also want to share this great Lunch Tote by Lunchskins! The divided container, the Kozy, the Lunchskins snack bag and a drink all fit nicely into this Lunch Tote! It holds a lot more than it looks like. If you like you can get bags to match too! Lunchskins is always finding ways to make reusable bags a little more chic! Eco-chic and Eco-friendly choices are easy to make throughout the year with Lunchskins! They are doing a Back To School, Back To YOU campaign. You can also buy Lunchskins at Target!
