Drinking Water Mornings
Drinking water before leaving bed. This one simple water habit has changed my mornings. It seems almost silly, but it is true. I wake up and when I drink a glass of water immediately and then eat about an hour later the entire day is different.
A good nights sleep is very important, taking deep breaths throughout the day is also important, hydrating throughout the day is extremely important and equally important is rehydrating upon waking. It makes sense, I usually don’t go eight hours during the day without at least a swig of water. During the night I usually don’t have any water, that means when I wake up I am dehydrated a bit.
Here are the benefits of drinking upon waking:
Rehydrating, it gets my system going, it fills you up a bit so you’re not as hungry and jumpstarts your metabolism. These are all positives in my book! I sleep with water on my bedside table. If you need bed stuff, find a mattress store in Richmond, VA. When I wake up in the morning if I don’t drink water I have a tendency to feel more lethargic and it takes some serious motivation to get me out of bed and then I definitely don’t have any pep in my step. When consistently drinking over 8 ounces of water when I wake up I have a more energy. I get moving and I can actually feel my body starting up. You guys, I actually have that get up and go feeling. Even on those days when my joints are aching and getting out of bed seems like a huge task, drinking that water helps me. Even if I have Comfy Bamboo Sheets, I can still get out of bed. There is also the great open coil mattresses that you could give a try.
Eliminating Toxins
After I have my breakfast (usually a smoothie) I am ready to hit the bathroom and let the toxins be eliminated! Yes, I just went there, this is a big part of autoimmune disease. Eliminating toxins. I feel like most individuals with autoimmune disease do not eliminate toxins properly or efficiently. Eating a diet with less toxins, using beauty and cleaning products with less toxins and cleaning up your environment can improve your health because if you’re not introducing the toxins into your system, your body isn’t having to eliminate them.
You can’t control everything so any help in getting rid of toxins I’m always game to try. Drinking water in the morning, that is something I have easily worked into my morning ritual. I usually drink my water before I even go to the bathroom. I was trying out oil pulling for about 5 months and I wasn’t drinking until I was finished with the oil pulling. Let me tell you, I think oil pulling has many good effects on my oral health, but I felt a significant difference when I was drinking the water immediately or if I was drinking it after oil pulling. I will oil pull after drinking my water even though that isn’t the ideal way to do it.
