Onto some basics of making your own liquid gold
When making your own chicken broth you can use chicken bones or any left over carcass(es) from cooking a whole chicken. The bones can be frozen, refrigerated or room temp, before you toss them into your slow cooker. My approach to bone broth is very basic and free spirited. Check out my video to see me in action or the recipe below.

- Filtered Water
- Onion
- Carrots
- Celery

Notes
Bone broth stored in the fridge is good for about 4 days. Stored in the freezer, it is good for up to a year.
Don’t Want To Make Your Own?
Admittedly, there are times when I don’t have the bandwidth, ingredients on hand, sickness all of a sudden strikes or I feel like I’m in major need of an IV of broth and what I have in my fridge/freezer can’t keep up. Flavor Chef is my favorite bone broth for purchase. They go to great lengths to make a superior product. My sister gave me a 6 pack for Christmas which pretty much nominates her for the Sister of the Year award. Flavor Chef’s broths are available at most Mother’s stores in Orange County and various retailers in San Diego County and can be purchased for about $10 for a 24oz bag. If you are not in the area, they will ship it to your door. Of course, it’s way cheaper to make your own but sometimes you need a backup. Flavor Chef is my wingman.
